Waiting until age 70 to file? You’ll be in the slim minority!

According to an article by The Motley Fool’s Sean Williams, a mere 3% of Social Security recipients wait until age 70 (or later) to begin collecting their earned benefits.  In fact, 90% file for benefits at or before their Full Retirement Age (FRA), forgoing the annual 8% increase available for the years between FRA and age 70. The potential reduction in payouts as the Social Security Trust Funds reach insolvency further exacerbates the long-term problem for seniors, says Williams. Read his article here…
