Will Another Economic Relief Package Include SS Recipients?

The first round of economic relief due to the COVID-19 pandemic disbursed stimulus payments to, among others, Social Security beneficiaries whose income qualified them for such payments. All the buzz in Washington, D.C. these days is that Congress is actively working on another round of economic relief to further stimulate the economy, and some are wondering whether a second round of payments will be made to Social Security recipients. And the answer is – probably. Although the plan for a 2nd round of payments is nowhere near finalized, most of what is being discussed today points to the same qualification criteria as used in the CARES Act (the first round of economic relief), which would mean that seniors on Social Security would once again be included.
