Work-at-Home Employment Scams…Yet Another Way to Get your Social Security Number

The COVID-19 changed many, many aspects of everyday life for most of us, and of course one common change affected the way we’re employed. In fact, many who lost their jobs as companies folded turned to what looked like lucrative “work-at-home” jobs–simply apply online and furnish your personal information and you’re off and running. Unfortunately, as Bev O’Shea notes in her post today on the Waco Tribune-Herald website, many of these golden opportunities were actually scams to gain access to personal information for use in fraud situations.
