Working Past Normal Retirement Age and Community Design - McKnights Senior Living
Remaining in the workforce beyond normal retirement age, or perhaps rejoining it after retiring, is becoming increasingly prevalent. The reasons why this is happening are discussed in a post yesterday by McKnights Senior Living writer Kathleen Steele Gaivin, who recaps the results of a Western & Southern Financial Group study, which notes that “45% of retired Americans are currently working in some paid capacity, and another 19% are open to returning to the workforce.” The study addresses the implications of America’s “un-retirement wave,” focusing on why and how returning to (or remaining in) the workforce evolves for older Americans.
