World Elder Abuse Awareness Day is June 15th. What better day to make people aware of Social Security imposter scams targeting the elderly and others? Their tactics continue to evolve, and recently the Social Security’s Office of the Inspector General (OIG) has received reports of phone scammers creating fake versions of the identification badges most Federal employees use to gain access to Federal buildings. They even use names and photos of actual Social Security personnel listed on government websites or found through internet searches.
