2016 Fix for Medicare Premiums May Re-Surface in 2017

American Enterprise Institute’s Joseph Antos, in a post today on tampabay.com, suggested that COLA conditions projected for 2017 may lead to a repeat of the premium increase threat staved off by the Bipartisan Budget Agreement this year. While no COLA increase would cause the fix to be applied again for 2017, he noted, the more likely scenario of a small increase would limit the amount Part B premiums could increase.
