Congressman weighs in on proposed Medicare cuts

On Monday, U.S. Congressman Brad Wenstrup (R-2nd District) released a statement concerning cuts to the Medicare Advantage program for seniors proposed by the Obama Administration on Friday, expressing his concern for constituents who may be effected. According to Wenstrup’s office, the proposal is for a 3.55 percent decrease in funding for fiscal year 2015. “Ohio seniors were told if they liked their doctor and health plan, they could keep their doctor and health plan,” stated Wenstrup, who is a physician of 26 years and a member of the House Doctors’ Caucus. “Now, Obamacare (Affordable Care Act) is forcing many seniors to choose between the two as Medicare Advantage plans drop doctors from their networks to make up for Obamacare’s $200 billion in cuts to the program.
