Petition Aims To Stop Medicare’s Use Of Social Security Numbers

Syndicated talk show host Clark Howard says the identities of some 60 million senior citizens on Medicare is put in jeopardy by the government’s practice of using Social Security numbers as Medicare I-D numbers. He says half of all identity theft happens through medical access —  by  someone in an office at a hospital or doctor’s office who is able to gain access to a patient’s personal information.
