Home healthcare minimum wage enforcement delayed six months

The Department of Labor is delaying plans to enforce a rule that called for minimum wage and overtime requirements for home healthcare workers. The rule is still effective as of Jan. 1, 2015, but the agency won’t enforce it until June 30, 2015, it announced late Tuesday. During the subsequent six months, from July 1 to Dec. 31, 2015, the department will exercise its discretion in determining whether to bring enforcement actions, giving strong consideration to the extent to which states and other entities have made good faith efforts to bring their home care programs into compliance, it said….Read More
