Politicians must address potential Social Security insolvency

The financial press was abuzz this week with news and analysis related to the Social Security program. A couple of reports were circulating in the press. The Social Security Administration released its 2014 trustee’s report which indicated the programs assets, aka the Social Security trust fund, will be depleted by the year 2033. While 2033 is a little earlier than prior estimates, this news is not new, as previous reports released by the government indicated this time frame as well. As a side note, I’ll be 63 in 2033, so I’m not thinking this whole Social Security thing is looking like a real good deal for me. Read more…
