Millennials Compared to Boomers

Millennials are starting to fill the roles left behind in the work place left by retiring Boomers. However, Millennials are having a harder time adjusting to adult life than their parents did. For starters, the younger generation is starting their career already in debt thanks to student loans, they are the first generation to start adult life poorer than their parents did. Following this is the increased costs of home ownership. Boomers are refusing to downsize their living space in retirement leaving it difficult for Millennials to find affordable housing. This has the younger generation putting off important milestones in their adult life such as marriage. Boomers married at an average age of 25 for men and 22 for women, Millennials have raised the bar to 28 for men and 26 for women.
