Navigating the New Social Security Rules

There are many new things to look out for with Social Security since the budget bill passed late last year. What’s worse is that most of these new rules are not laid out in an easily grokkable format, leaving each retiree to do their own leg work to make sure they get the money that they are entitled to. Even experts are left confused about many of the new filing rules. One thing that has been gone over at length is how a couple of popular filing strategies have been shut down. These strategies allowed couples to file their benefits in such a way to grow their future benefits while still collecting a check each month. However, these are no longer valid strategies and many are left scrambling trying to figure out a new plan that will leave them more comfortable in retirement.
