Medicare premiums to rise, but it could have been worse.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced that Medicare Part B premiums, which had been estimated to rise as much as 22%, would instead rise by about 10% for some beneficiaries.  Those most affected are the 6.5 million people who are high-earners and those who will be enrolling in Medicare’s Part B in 2017.  The remaining 70% of existing Part B beneficiaries will see a much smaller increase.  This Money article by Elizabeth O’Brien has the details.  Click here to read more.
