Social Security: Real reform vs. emotional rants
In this Social Security and You article appearing at Tucson.com, columnist Tom Margenau discusses some of the quick-fix reforms that arm-chair Social Security experts tell him would solve the program’s financial woes. These range from stopping benefits for “gold digging wives” to those who are “faking an impairment” to get Social Security disability benefits. Problem is, of course, that these are mostly just emotional rants based on incorrect perceptions of reality, not real reform of the program.
