Social Security: Real reform vs. emotional rants

In this Social Security and You article appearing at Tucson.com, columnist Tom Margenau discusses some of the quick-fix reforms that arm-chair Social Security experts tell him would solve the program’s financial woes.  These range from stopping benefits for “gold digging wives” to those who are “faking an impairment” to get Social Security disability benefits.  Problem is, of course, that these are mostly just emotional rants based on incorrect perceptions of reality, not real reform of the program.

AMAC has been at the forefront trying to strengthen Social Security by developing and offering real reform by proposing its Social Security Guarantee.  AMAC has been discussing and continues to discuss this common-sense solution with Congressional Representatives in its efforts to protect America’s senior citizens who rely on Social Security.  To review AMAC’s Social Security Guarantee, click here.
