Social Security recipients beware – another phone scam
It seems there is no end to the number of scams that criminals will attempt to relieve even the most vulnerable among us of their money. The latest scam making the rounds is a fake phone message from someone pretending to be from the Social Security Administration, threatening to suspend your benefits because of “fraudulent activity”, and then trying to extract your personal information to “resolve” the issue. As described in this Aberdeen (SD) News article, the Better Business Bureau reminds everyone that Government agencies do not contact you by phone; they send letters if they need to speak with you, so don’t fall for any such phone calls you receive.
