What’s New in 2019 for Social Security?

Tom Margeneau’s comprehensive piece here looks at all the major changes to Social Security for 2019.  There are no substantive changes in the law, but there are a number of adjustments due to inflation.  In addition to the across the board 2.8% increase for all beneficiaries, Margeneau explains the minimum one must earn in 2019 to get the maximum four credits ($5,440) toward the full 40 needed to qualify for benefits.  Other changes include an increase in the cap on earnings to $132,900.  Read his full piece here.
