Beware of Coronavirus Medicare Scams
Cyber criminals, too, believe in the philosophy to “never let a crisis go to waste.” And so, with the COVID-19 pandemic in full swing, we probably shouldn’t be surprised that there is an upswing in the number of Medicare scams that have been detected in recent weeks and months. The scam may take the form of a phone call from someone pretending to be from Medicare, or perhaps even a knock on your door by someone claiming to be from Medicare. Whatever form it takes, be aware that Medicare doesn’t call or threaten, nor do they have the resources to make in-person visits.
