A Fraud Warning From Social Security

Unfortunately, fraud attempts seem to be on the rise these days, and Social Security recipients have become one of the scammer’s favorite targets. So much so that the Office of the Inspector General of Social Security has issues a new warning – this one about scammer’s creating fake government badges with names of real government employees to fool you into believing their story. But make no mistake – Social Security will only call you if you have first requested something from them (e.g., applying for benefits).
