Since one only has limited control over how much Social Security they will get, where to reside in retirement is something that must be planned. This CBS story uses research from WalletHub, which based its ranking on more than 45 different criteria, including cost of living, crime rate, number of golf courses and availability of high-quality hospitals geared to old people. Charleston, SC ranked number one, and four cities in Florida made the top 10. They are Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Orlando and Tampa. The worst were Rancho Cucamonga, San Bernardino and Stockton, CA, along with Bridgeport, CT and Newark, NJ. Full article here.
