A Sobering View of Social Security Reform - FOX Business

In an unusually candid discussion, Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA) revealed the current attitude in Washington, D.C. when it comes to needed Social Security and Medicare reform – the right thing to do for problem resolution takes a back seat to the right thing to do politically. Said another way, potential political gain takes precedent over actually solving Social Security’s financial problems. In this very sad commentary on the current state of American politics, Senator Cassidy suggests that Social Security’s and Medicare’s funding problems will continue to fester due the current political climate which eschews even bipartisan efforts targeting reform. American taxpayers – especially those who rely on Social Security and Medicare – are the losers in this political game, which can only be mitigated in the voting booth.
