Getting that Elusive Social Security Max Benefit

Everyone wants to maximize their monthly Social Security check. But claiming at 62 will never allow for that. Waiting until 70 gets one the maximum benefit they are entitled to based on a 35 year work history. Working less than 35 years means zeroes in the calculation, meaning a lower benefit. Katie Brockman discusses the $4,555 per month absolute maximum benefit few will ever obtain. It requires earnings at or above the wage cap (currently $160,200 in 2023) for 35 or more years AND waiting until age 70. Needless to say, few are eligible and/or have the patience.
