You Cannot Live on Social Security Alone - Nasdaq

The disparity is huge – the maximum Social Security benefit for 2024 is $4,873, while the minimum 2024 SS benefit is a mere $50.90. And it sure would be a lot easier to live on the higher amount than the lower. But reality is that very few actually receive either the maximum or the minimum – the average recipient of Social Security benefits pulls down about $1,900 which is, still, clearly not enough to live comfortably on. The message, as explained in this Nasdaq article by Motley Fool’s Christy Bieber, is that you cannot live well on Social Security alone, so do all you can to build your nest egg and set up additional income sources before you retire. A comfortable future, after you hang up your work clothes for good, depends on it.
