Ways to Jeopardize Your Social Security Benefits
A steady flow of monthly income via Social Security is something claimants certainly look forward to. After all, the program has been around for over eighty years and has never missed a scheduled payment. While that consistency is certainly a great aspect of the program, it’s important to know that there are ways that the benefit stream can be interrupted. No, we’re not talking about the looming insolvency issue that’s bombarding the news this week; rather, we’re talking about ways that benefits can be revoked.
CNET reporter Katie Teague explores this topic in a post on their website, which you can access here. Note, though, that her article discusses Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments which are not really a part of Social Security, but her advice is relevant to anyone receiving that form of benefit.
If, after reading Ms. Teague’s post, you still have questions about Social Security’s rules and regulations, know that the AMAC Foundation provides a free-to-the-public Social Security Advisory Service to help you. Learn more about this service and how to access it via the Foundation website.
