Ageism in Today’s World

Ageism affects two demographics very differently in the work place. Both Millennials and Baby Boomers are victims of this practice. Ageism is starting to decline, however, as evidenced most prominently in this year’s election. The average age of the last 3 presidents was 49 years old, the average age of this year’s candidates is 70. Compounding on this, the average age of voters has gone down with the insurgence of Millennial voters. This trend is spilling over in to many other aspects of life as well with Millennials and Boomers sharing many ideals that mean they mesh well together in areas from the work place, to Hollywood movie roles, to coaching and athlete dynamics on sports teams.
