Wave of Delayed Stimulus Payments To Social Security Recipients Has Started

Many low-income beneficiaries of Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) were left wondering why they hadn’t yet received their economic relief or “stimulus” payment, as millions of other’s on Social Security got theirs. Fortunately, the legislative log jam which caused this to happen has been cleared, and the latest stimulus payments have now started flowing to our most vulnerable Americans, with most to be delivered by April 7th. The delay, caused by an apparent legislative oversight which had the IRS and the SSA pointing fingers at each other, has now been corrected and payments have already started to those who did not file an income tax return in the past two years, and who did not provide the IRS with banking information for the last round of stimulus payments.
