  1. I”d like to know How on Near $1,500 monthly, living month to month, I can afford the cheapest apartment if I must pay one month rent and one months deposit, equals $1,600. I had a room in a house that was sectioned into 5 rental units. THe hose was sold and we all had to move. That was 15 months ago, I am living in my car and it’s almost dead, overheating in 95 degree and even at 85 it overheats. When the car dies, I will go with it.
I’ve tried every local, state and federal option and am in between on my income, so not eligible for any help whatsover to get a deposit helper. The lists for assisted living is 6 to 16 years, so thats no option now, and even rooms in the area are just as expensive as a 1 bed apartment.

    • Sorry about your situation. You may find it helpful to go to the website for the National Council on Aging at http://www.benefitscheckup.org. Here you can enter your zip code, answer a few questions and get a report which shows you all of the public benefits which may be available to you.
