Boomers Refusing to Downsize in Retirement

Baby Boomers are starting to affect the younger generation’s ability to find affordable homes for their new families. In the past, retirees have downsized their homes in retirement and after their children moved out in to homes of their own. Now, however, the most recent generation to enter in to retirement are refusing to give up their family homes. Instead, they are going in the opposite direction and upsizing in to their dream homes. This leaves the younger generations priced out of the market as the homes demand a higher price tag that they may not be able to afford so soon in to their careers.
