Budget Deal on Disability

One facet of the recent budget deal that has not being seeing much attention is how it is affecting Social Security Disability Insurance. It has already made a splash in how it closes loopholes as far as retirement is concerned, but some are criticizing it’s lack of focus on the SSDI program. SSDI is set to run out by the end of 2016 and was in dire need of some attention, however the new bill did nothing to change the system. SSDI has been heavily abused in the recent down economy, taking in a surge of applications. The system was already set to run out by 2027, but recent fraud from applicants and neglect from management has reduced that timeline significantly.
