Children and Survivors Benefits

The survivors benefits are also calculated differently for children, they are awarded a predetermined lump sum each month that is readjusted yearly for inflation. The benefits for the year of 2016 are the lesser of either $510 per month per child or $1532 per month divided among the eligible children.
