Nearly every day, the media airwaves sound another edition of the general alarm about the Social Security trust fund depletion projections. With this constant drumbeat, there is little wonder why a growing number of retirees and future retirees are paying closer attention to Social Security’s finances, with this attention level often spiraling into a sense of dread. If you feel this way, don’t despair. It’s likely that Congress will eventually tackle the problem and produce a solution. The form of that solution will satisfy some, annoy others, but overall will hopefully reintroduce stability to this venerable senior support program.
