GAO Calls Attention to Unresolved Cybersecurity Issues - biometricupdate.com

Citing the potential for sensitive personal data to be jeopardized due to inattention to a series of open recommendations tied to cybersecurity and information technology management, the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) recently warned Social Security Administration officials of the dangers of “bureaucratic inertia.” In a public report, GAO cited 11 open recommendations related to high-risk areas which, if addressed, “… could significantly improve SSA’s ability to deter threats and manage its critical systems, operations, and information.
