A Statement on Government Spending

AMAC National Spokesman Robert Charles, in an AMAC Newsline post yesterday, offers an insightful recap of governmental spending and the urgent need for spending reform. His piece, titled “We Just Must,” focuses on the need for “… fiscal sanity, sustainable taxes, and survival of the taxbase” as a pathway to preservation of the American Dream. Although the Charles post does not address Social Security’s role in government overspending, most examinations of the $38 trillion — and growing — federal debt level tend to suggest “entitlement” spending in general as a driving force behind the debt’s escalation. A recent article by the AMAC Foundation can help put this in perspective.
