SSA Commissioner Reports 99.9% Completion of HR 82 Retroactivity Claims

In comments before the Social Security and Work & Welfare Joint Subcommittee Hearing, Social Security Commissioner Frank Bisignano updated House Ways and Means officials on the progress toward resolving the retroactive benefit claims related to the January signing of the Social Security Fairness Act. As of last week, he reported, there were just 3,100 claims remaining to be settled (0.1%) of the total.
