Investing When Nearing Retirement
It may seem like a lost cause if you see the need to start investing so soon to your planned retirement date, but you may have more time than it first seems. If you are planning to invest some money from your 401(k) in order to make up some funds in retirement, you don’t have to look for a quick turn around. This investment could be left alone and allowed to accrue over the course of a decade or more, well in to your retirement, while you live off of Social Security and other savings. You won’t need that money right away, it can be used to supplement your income later in to retirement when your other savings begin to dwindle.
