Mom’s in Retirement

Nearly half of mothers looking towards retirement are not feeling confident with the plans they have. This is according to a recent survey that pulled info from many demographics on this subject, the same survey showed that fathers shared this sentiment at a rate of only 36%. This is because it has been historically harder on females in retirement than on men. This mostly boils down to the wage gap between men and women in past years, further exacerbated by taking time off of work and growing their Social Security benefits and retirement accounts in order to take care of their children at home. Women also tend to live longer than men, meaning that they have to stretch their savings even further in retirement. For more information visit this article by Penelope Wang with TIME.
