A Visit From Congressman Webster

Webster-WeberAMAC’s Leesburg, Florida office hosted a visit from Rep. Daniel Webster (FL-10) on Wednesday, May 4 during the Congressman’s regular series of “listening sessions” he conducts while home from Washington. The timing was perfect, since we’re in the run-up stages to a May 16 AMAC-sponsored rally to support Congressional approval of H.R. 4140, The Seniors Act. Rep. Webster is one of seven members of Congress who have endorsed H.R. 4140 and have pledged their support to the bill that will give Social Security beneficiaries a much-needed, one-time 1% increase in 2016 benefits, retroactive to the beginning of the year.

While visiting the office, Rep. Webster took the opportunity to address the Leesburg-based Webster-Groupstaff, providing a brief update on the services his office provides. Fielding questions from the group, the Congressman offered insights into the workings of federal government and his thoughts on the upcoming election cycle, as well as his continuing fight to change the Washington culture to be more one of service to citizens.

Rep. Webster has served in the U.S. House of Representatives since 2011 and, prior to that, in the Florida State Legislature. During his 28 years as a member of the Florida Senate, he also served as Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives for a two-year term. Due to court-ordered redistricting, he is currently seeking re-election in Central Florida’s 11th District.
