One of the more frequent issues we deal with at the AMAC Foundation Social Security Advisory Service is the question of when to file for benefits upon reaching age 62. Our response to this question typically is to stress that, while it’s a decision that needs to be based on a number of factors, the discounted benefit needs to be weighed heavily.
