Need to Update Your Banking Info for Social Security Payments? Better Read this.
Beginning March 29, the Social Security Administration (SSA) will no longer accept requests to change banking information over the phone. The change will require banking changes to be submitted through a “my Social Security” account or, as an alternative, visit a field office to submit the request in person. Using the “my Social Security” account approach will take advantage of two-factor authentication, a step expected to counter much of the fraud currently associated with misdirected benefit payments. In a recent 10News.com post, Scripps News Group provides additional background on the origin of this rule change. Access the post here…
Please let me know when change is completed.
