New Commissioner Plans to Restore Solvency
Financial services executive Frank Bisignano has been appointed to the role of Commissioner of the Social Security Administration – a challenging role at this critical period in the SSA’s history. Faced with a looming financial crisis in the fast-approaching year 2033, the new commissioner shared his vision to improve the Social Security program (not break it), and “ensure that (Social Security) is here for the next 90 years, at least.” These are encouraging words as Mr. Bisignano takes over this critical senior services program, on which more than 73 million Americans rely.
