No Benefit Increase Actually Benefiting Some

Many are concerned because of the recent reports that there will be no increase to Social Security benefits this year. Many more are concerned about their Medicare premiums rising in price at the same time. However, for those on other forms of welfare the increases on Social Security benefits in the past have left them with less money than before the increases. As their benefits go up they are dropped into lower tiers of welfare and lose benefits from those sources, leaving them paying more out of pocket than they are receiving in aid, leading to a net loss.
