Non-Partisan GAO warns Social Security & Medicare not sustainable

The non-partisan government watchdog agency, U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO), released a report this week requested by Senator Mike Enzi (R-WY), Chairman of the Budget Committee, and Senator Mike Braun (R-IN) warning Social Security and Medicare, among other trust funds as well, are on an unsustainable course.  “GAO’s new report is another warning sign that Social Security, Medicare, and other trust fund programs on which many Americans rely are in danger of going broke,” said Chairman Enzi.  “Congress will need to work in a bipartisan manner to safeguard these programs to ensure they are able to provide for those who need them now and in the future.”
