On Medicare? Here’s what you need to know for 2026 - Nasdaq

“The good, the bad, and the ugly” – and no, we’re not talking about the classic Clint Eastwood movie of the same name. Rather, this Nasdaq article is referring to Medicare changes in 2026, and you’ll likely find some good things, some bad things, and and some really ugly things that may affect you. Medicare, of course, is the nation’s primary healthcare program for America’s senior citizen population, a program on which over 66 million people depend for healthcare services. Some bad things happen automatically, such as inflation-induced premium increases and deductibles. This year will also see some good things happening, such as possible reductions to prescription drug prices. But there are also some pretty ugly things on the 2026 Medicare horizon, caused by what has been described as “mayhem” in the Medicare Advantage market (Medicare Advantage plans are private plans which replace traditional Medicare coverage).
