Registered Social Security Analysts share client opinions about Social Security

More than half of the Registered Social Security Analysts (RSSAs) participating in a study conducted by the National Association of Registered Social Security Analysts (NARSSA) report that their clients express doubt about whether Congress will act to correct Social Security’s insolvency problem. As a result, they note, nearly three-quarters of analysts report that clients are electing to claim benefits early in anticipation of a change due to the possibility of insolvency. These findings underscore the growing importance of seeking guidance when preparing to make decisions relating to Social Security, something that NARSSA President Martha Shedden suggests “shows how strongly fear and confusion are influencing one of the most important retirement decisions they will ever make.” Check out the survey summary posted on desmoinesregister.com.
