Should You Wait to Claim Social Security?

To take benefits at age 62 or not?  It’s perhaps the biggest decision one might ever make.  Christy Bieber challenges conventional wisdom in this pieces suggesting it may make sense for some to claim benefits early, even though they will be forever reduced.  One’s health plays a key role.  If in poor health then missing monthly checks in order to get a bigger one later on makes little sense.  Bieber also notes spouses must coordinate with one another.  Finally, she answers the question, “Is claiming early the ticket to retirement?”  Full piece here.
