Disability benefits make up a huge portion of Social Security payments, 10 million people across America benefit from this program. This makes up about $11.4 billion each month. The Social Security Administration is becoming very mindful of the data it collects because of the increase in fraudulent cases in past years in this area. The disability branch of the Social Security program is more apt to attract these cases of fraud than the other aspects. The rates of those on disability by each state were just released with West Virginia leading the pack at 8.9% of the eligible working population.
