SSDI: Some Improvement in the Numbers, But is it Enough?

American Enterprise Institute’s Tejesh Pradhan and James C. Capretta offer commentary on the continuing need for reform in the Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) program in an article posted today on www.aei.org. Their analysis is based on the conclusion that “the DI trust fund is in severe financial distress and probably would already be insolvent were it not for stopgap legislation.” Their remarks include a series of suggested program changes that should be examined.
