The Big COLA: How much will your benefit check increase?

For many, it will be a simple matter to take their current benefit amount and multiply it by 1.059 to get a picture of what their monthly payment will look like in January. But for those who are covered by Medicare Part B, it’s a slightly different story. For those beneficiaries, the anticipated increase in Part B premiums will water that amount down a bit. At present, the final number has not been released yet, but most projections put it in the range of $158.50, so using that figure should put you pretty close to the answer.
