The Television Generation
The birth of modern television and the Baby Boomer generation coincide down to the same year. Television sets started to become widespread in 1946 with the economic boom following the end of WWII, the same year that marks the era of the Baby Boomers that starts in ’46 and ends in ’64. Every moment that marks a turning point and is so quintessentially part of the Boomer experience has been broadcast through the TV. For example, every Boomer was “there” for the moon landing and can consequently share in that experience and embrace it as a generation.
