The Underfunded Social Security Administration

The Social Security Administration has recently been under duress from the massive influx of the Baby Boomer generation entering in to retirement. This, coupled with budget cuts, have stressed the already thin resources the administration has to work with. The administration operates on just 0.7% of total Social Security spending, a decrease from 0.9% in 2011. This budget covers all overhead and man hours spent working on the individual cases that have been piling up from retiring Boomers, a workload that will be increasing each year for the next decade.
